Scotland is a beautiful country to visit and to explore. To make it even more enjoyable here are some of our top tips when discovering Scotland by motorhome.
Have a Plan
Where are you going and where you would like to stay.?
Scotland has an amazing range of campsites and there are also opportunities to stay in forestry car parks too but do check before and book if required to avoid disappointment.
Road Etiquette
If you are new to driving a motorhome, make a note of vehicle measurements and of course take extra care when driving along bendy roads. Plus, as your vehicle may be slower than you are used to, when it is safe to do so, let other drivers overtake you. Plus, when parking please ensure you leave access to gates and small roads and avoid parking on verges.
Be Weather Prepared
In Scotland there are times when you can enjoy all 4 seasons in one day and do take this in consideration when planning your trip. And if you are going to be driving in the Winter, please ensure you have all the right equipment and food should you get snowed in!
Don’t Leave Anything Behind
It goes without saying that when you stop anywhere, please ensure you don’t leave any litter and if you are using a barbeque that that it is safely extinguished.
